Bass vacancies

We have two vacancies for basses and bass-baritones from September 2016.

We are a chamber choir that performs three programmes a year, in addition to serving the wider community in Christmas services and with a significant outreach programme for young singers. Over the next 18 months we will be performing Messiah with our professional period instrument ensemble;  Renaissance music for Passiontide including Victoria’s Responsories for Maundy Thursday and Allegri’s Miserere; Bach’s important motet Jesu, meine freude; major twentieth century works by Kenneth Leighton, Herbert Howells and Samuel Barber; new music by Augusta Read Thomas and Francis Pott; and a selection of lighter Irish ballads and folksong arrangements.

Performances take place three times a year: in mid-November, early April and late June/early July and if you’d like to hear us, our next concert is on 2 July.

We welcome singers with significant choral experience who are confident sight-readers, who would like to join a friendly, well-organised and forward-looking group of talented musicians. We are committed to high standards of singing, and to bringing innovative programmes to audiences around the North East.
