Summer concert and reception: St Brandon’s Church, Brancepeth

Tickets and full details here

Our summer programme is inspired by items in the art collection of Joséphine Bowes, and for the first of the two concerts, we’ll be singing with the paintings around us in the museum she and her husband built for them, as guests of the Friends of The Bowes Museum.

The Bowes Museum programme includes music from 17th century Italy, a rarity by Fauré, La Naissance de Vénus and, of course Orlando Gibbons’s The Silver Swan. We perform a modified version of the programme at Brancepeth: this concert will be followed by our summer reception to which all are invited.

The Souls of the Righteous

Saturday 9 November  2019,  St Cuthbert’s Chapel,  Ushaw College

The English Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble join us for a programme to include Purcell’s Funeral Sentences, Take him earth for cherishing by Howells, and music by Schütz, Bach and Francis Pott.
