 d musical centres of 17th- and 18th-century New Spain. The Cathedral was h
 ome to a flourishing musical tradition where European sacred styles met th
 e energy and diversity of the New World.\n\nThe result is music that is bo
 th refined and full of life – soaring motets\, joyful villancicos\, and 
 serene Marian hymns that once echoed through the Cathedral’s vaulted cei
