Description: The programme commences with music on the theme of ‘Come sweet death’ by J. S. Bach, Lobo, Neustedt, Poulenc, Shaw and Smyth. In the second half of the concert, we are excited to be performing the northern première of The Crucifixion by Tom Edney, our music director. His work, for mezzo-soprano, baritone, chorus and organ, is based on Stainer’s famous Crucifixion. It contains hymns employing original words by Mother Carrie Thompson.

Please join us in exploring different reflections for the Lenten period.
