Join the Durham Singers
The choir wants to continue being refreshed by new ideas, new music and above all new members. These will be people who already have some experience as singers and who want to share in this broad, exciting musical tradition, helping us champion new music alongside music from the last 500 years. Above all, we want to work with people who share our core aim of making each and every concert a special, moving occasion for all, audiences and performers alike.

Rehearsals
We rehearse on Monday evenings, from 7.45 p.m. to 9.45 p.m. at North Road Methodist Church, Durham, DH1 4SG (see map below). Rehearsals generally follow the pattern of school terms, depending on our concert schedule. We are a friendly, welcoming choir and rehearsals are usually followed by drinks at the Bridge Hotel pub a few minutes walk from the church.
There is a very limited amount of parking at the church itself, for those who need it, and plenty of street parking within a few minutes’ walk of the church, on the other side of the railway viaduct. All the metered parking on local streets is free in the evenings.
We generally have one extra rehearsal in the venue the evening before a concert. For unaccompanied or lightly accompanied recital programmes, there is usually a short rehearsal before the concert. When we perform with an orchestra, a full afternoon rehearsal before the concert is required.
