As a leading amateur chamber choir in the North East, the Durham Singers aim to provide opportunities for local singers to use and develop their skills to produce high-quality choral music, with fresh, vibrant interpretations. In addition, a central aspect of our mission is to give a platform to young local musicians and singers. Our outreach programme brings talented young people from the North East, whether they be young soloists with professional ambitions, or local choirs and instrumentalists, into direct contact with some of the best period instrumentalists from around the UK.
In order to continue this outreach work, we rely on additional supporters who make a difference both financially and through their enthusiasm for our mission. Their support is invaluable in enabling us to keep choral music alive and flourishing in our area, to provide high-quality opportunities for young, talented musicians, and to plan future programmes.
